Why Collections Are Important In Mafia Wars

Just like most social games out there, Mafia Wars has a wealth of collections that you can build up and trade in for excellent items. But why are they so important to you in Mafia Wars and why does it really matter if you take the time to turn them in? Well, let’s take a look at why collections are vital to your game play in Mafia Wars:

What Are Collections: Collections in Mafia Wars are basically a group of items (normally seven items) that all are gained from doing jobs on specific tiers and areas of the game. Each tier has it’s own sets of collections, and each area has special collections that you can work to build up. As you level up in Mafia Wars, you’ll gain access to more and more collections and be able to really build up some special items by trading them in.

Why They Help You: Each of the different collections in Mafia Wars can be turned in for a special item that you cannot get anywhere else in the game. Some of these items will boost attribute points, others are mega boosts to your attack or defense areas, some give you items that you will need to unlock special areas of the game or special quests. The higher the tier for a collection, the better the boost will be that you earn when you turn it in.

How Do You Get Them: To gain collections, you have to complete jobs in Mafia Wars on each tier. When you do, you’ll gain the normal money and loot, and have the chance to gain collection items for that specific tier as well. You can also put them on your wish list and hope that other players will send them to you if they have more than one of that particular item. So, the bigger your mafia is in the game, the better chance you have of gaining these collection items that you really need to get one completed. To add one of these collection items to your wish list, simply click the little paper with the “+” sign on it below that particular item in the collection. You can also gift them to people in your mafia by clicking the gift button below it.

How Do You Turn Them In: Once you complete a collection, you will be able to “vault” it using the button that will appear to the right of the collection. You can tell that a collection is ready to vault if you look through the collection and you have at least one of everything listed. Those that are not ready will show you what you will gain when you turn them in.

Some collections aren’t really worth hammering out if they are offering you something that you don’t use a lot of, such as maybe stamina. For those that offer you boosts to your energy, attack, and defense, you want to make sure that you turn them in immediately and that you try to build them again and again to boost those areas without having to spend your skill points when you level. Also keep in mind that the more collections you vault, the more special items you’ll gain.
