GameX Announces Spark Plug Games as Featured Game Developer
GameX (Games & Media Expo), October 23-25, 2009 in Philadelphia, today announced Spark Plug Games as one of the latest featured game developers to participate, presenting their newest line-up of online and console games for the casual player at GameX.
Spark Plug Games is a leading independent games developer licensed for Sony PlayStation®3, Nintendo Wii™, Nintendo DS™, Sony PlayStation®Portable, Microsoft Xbox 360® and Apple iPhone™ platforms. Their studio culture embraces the slogan “We ignite fun!”™. Spark Plug Games recently announced a new development collaboration with 2BeeGames.com, the premier online community for independent games. 2BeeGames concluded their first indie game developer competition in July, and has entered into a publishing agreement with community favorite Terence Lee, creator of Storm. Zoo Games (parent company of 2BeeGames) has selected Spark Plug Games as the game development studio to work with 2BeeGames in conjunction with Lee in the creation of console versions of the winning title.

Together, Spark Plug Games and 2BeeGames will be showing early previews of Storm, a unique weather-based action puzzle game, at the GameX convention (booth 105). The development team and Storm creator will be on-site to talk about the upcoming plans for multiple console versions of the title. In addition, 2BeeGames will be available for any indie developers who attend the show and would like to learn more about the upcoming contests.
“GameX comes at an ideal time for 2BeeGames as we’ve signed our first indie project to publish on consoles with Storm,” said Tony Tran, Beekeeper of 2BeeGames.com. “Our second indie game competition enters the voting period on November 9th and we encourage all interested gamers and developers to come talk to us at the conference.”
Presented by NBC Local Media in Philadelphia, GameX has quickly ramped up to showcase high-visibility entertainment, tech , media and games as the main attraction. GameX features games-focused exhibits and demos from companies such as Electronic Arts (Dante’s Inferno and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning) and SEGA (BAYONETTA), as well as pop culture elements such as advance film and TV screenings and trailers, celebrity guest appearances, high stakes game tournaments, live video game music, robotics demonstrations, cosplay, video game comedy improv, animation festival and competitive steampunk art exhibit, and much more.
