Why The DK Blood Spec Is My Favorite

When it comes to the Death Knight class, yeah, I just can’t get enough – especially with the Blood spec. I absolutely love it, and can never see myself going another way with DK specs. But for those that are on the fence about which DK talent spec to go for, well here are the reasons why I can’t see going any other way!

Playing a DK is different than any other class right now – until Blizzard nerfs them, as I’m sure will happen – but, until then, they are top shelf. In my gaming opinion, when it comes to the different DK talent specs, Blood is the way to go for anyone who wants to use their DK as a tank. Here is why: when you go Blood spec, the vast majority of your spells and abilities suddenly offer you a chance to heal for a percentage of the damage done. To me, this is awesome. Now, I am by no means saying I’m the best player out there – I die, just like everyone else – but when I play a Blood spec’ed DK, I rarely die. Not only do you have Rune Tap, which allows you to turn a Blood Rune into like 10% of your overall heath, you have Mark of Blood which heals you for 4% of your health whenever you deal damage to a mob or target, and Vampiric Blood, which increased the amount of health that you get back from spells and such by 50%. So, with just these three things, you can easily use your abilities to keep yourself alive and well where others will fail.

Sure, there are other sweet abilities when you go Blood spec, and one of my favorites is the Dancing Rune Weapon, which basically puts all of your runic power into a second weapon that dances around you and fights all by it’s lonesome for 10 second, plus an additional second for each 5 runic power that you have left. This is a super sweet ability when it comes to fighting bosses, as it gives you one more hand at chopping away.

If you are still curious about finding out about the Blood spec on a Death Knight, there is all the information that you need to know about the different talent abilities that are offered to you as you plug your talent points into this talent spec on the WoWWiki on their Death Knight Talent list.
